Vice Premier Sun Chunlan Visits Confucius Institute at Lomonosov Moscow State University
On June 14th, local time, Vice Premier Sun Chunlan, who was on a visit in Russia, paid a visit to Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). Accompanied by Victor Antonovich Sadovnichy, Rector of Lomonosov MSU, Sun visited the Confucius Institute at the University.

At around 10:00 a.m., the delegation led by Sun Chunlan arrived at the Confucius Institute, and received a warm welcome from the teachers and students of the Institute. Afterwards, Sun Chunlan visited the exhibition of school-running achievements made by Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms across Russia, and listened to the reports delivered respectively by Victor Antonovich Sadovnichy, Rector of Lomonosov MSU, Tatiana Bukhtiyarova, Russian Director of the Confucius Institute and Principal of the Confucius Institute Headquarters. Sun also inspected an exhibition of teaching achievements including self-compiled teaching materials of the Confucius Institute, and had warm talks with Chinese and foreign directors of the Confucius Institute as well as representatives of local teachers.
Students of the Confucius Institute held a panel discussion with the theme of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit. The teachers and students had an active discussion centering on such topics as the background, spirit and purpose of the SCO, as well as stories between the two heads of state. During the discussion, Sun Chunlan showed her appreciation by nodding her head.

Afterwards, Sun Chunlan delivered a warm speech in which she pointed out that the discussion themed with the SCO Qingdao Summit fully demonstrated that the Chinese proficiency of the students of the Confucius Institute at Lomonosov MSU had been greatly improved. She expressed her sincere congratulations on their achievements.
Sun Chunlan said that language serves as a bridge and bond for communication. It is believed that the Confucius Institute at Lomonosov MSU will enjoy sound development with the support and help of Rector Victor Antonovich Sadovnichy.
Sun Chunlan stressed that the current China-Russia relations are at the best period in history. In particular, President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin have reached important consensus in their talks. Developing relations between both countries is the best benefit to the two peoples, and this process will not be smooth without enough people who are good at Chinese and Russian. She has noticed that everyone here pays great attention to the development of China-Russia relations, and believes that they will surely play a positive role in promoting bilateral long-lasting friendship, as well as make greater contributions to facilitating bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges and deepening the friendship between the two peoples. The teachers and students are welcome to take opportunities to visit China, which not only is conducive to improving language ability, but also will help them learn more about China, and thus better utilizing their knowledge in future work and life.
