2016 In-service Special Training Workshop for Confucius Institute Directors officially kicks off

On Oct. 17th, the 2016 In-service Special Training Workshop for Confucius Institute Directors, sponsored by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and organized by Xiamen University, was officially inaugurated. A total of 72 local directors of Confucius Institutes from 41 countries in 5 continents attended this 4-day workshop.

At the workshop

Delegates attending this workshop will conduct in-depth discussion on issues of four major themes, namely, “challenges and measures in integrating into host institutions and Sino-foreign cooperation”, “raising, management and use of funds for Confucius Institutes”, “planning branded cultural events for Confucius Institutes”, and “strengthening core competitiveness and building featured Confucius Institutes according to local conditions”. They will also attend roundtables on programs launched by Confucius Institute Headquarters. In addition, Wang Wen, Executive Dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China, will be invited to give a talk titled “China’s Economy and Its Impact on the World”.
